Summary/Technical Issue
There was a degraded quality of service provided to the Kleber and Correct Address+ services on 13th Oct 2016 from 10.33am to 11.32am.

The issue occurred when the autoscaling facility at our provider AWS was not able to start the required extra processing resources for the type of server used by Datatools because the 2 pools that the AWS server normally draws from were unavailable. This is an unprecedented situation for both pools to be unavailable.

DataTools external monitoring of the DataTools services during this time reported interruption to some but not all DataTools clients.

Notification
The issue was identified by DataTools Automated Monitoring Service at 10.33am 13th Oct 2016.

Fix Action
DataTools was moved onto a different type of server at AWS.

Duration of the Incident
The incident occurred between the hours of between 10.33am and 11.32am, lasting 59 minutes.

Prevention Measures
DataTools and its providers are employing a combination of an automatic fail over server and monitoring to ensure that this won’t happen again.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this incident may have caused.
