Kleber update procedure

Updating Software and Data with Kleber

One of the big advantages of Kleber is that DataTools maintains all updates for you which can save you a lot of time and money.

Set and forget

The Kleber service is fully maintained for you by DataTools. DataTools Server Specialists will look after all server updates including software upgrades, security patches and the regular data updates without you or your IT team needing to worry about anything.

No Updates to do

DataTools performs server updates with no down time.

DataTools follows a rigorous process to eliminate possible down time during updates. The process begins with the creation of a new “Pre-Release” server image – based the current production image – that is isolated from the production servers.

The Pre-Release server is then updated with all the latest server and security patches followed by the installation of the DataTools software and any necessary data updates*.   The server is then put through a thorough testing and QA phase before being given the OK for deployment.

The deployment process involves the creation of a new server from the Pre-Release image for every existing server in the Production Cluster. Once all the new servers are up and running, they are added to the Production Cluster, for a while doubling the cluster size. The old servers are then retired from the Production Cluster leaving only the new servers with no down time experienced by the users.
