Overview

Checking the validity of an email address helps:

  • reduce your bounce rate;
  • improves your sender reputation (so that you don’t get blocked) and
  • ensures that your message gets delivered to your customers and more importantly, your prospects!

This email showcase uses:
DataTools.Verify.Email.BriteVerify.VerifyEmail.

How was this demo created?

Email verification can be included as part of your online cart, registration process, CRM/database etc. When you process an email the method will return a status code and description to say if the email is one of four options:

  1. valid,
  2. invalid,
  3. unknown or
  4. accept all.

It will also inform the user if the address is a disposable/temporary one and whether it is a role address. (Role emails are ‘admin@example.com’ or ‘ITHelpdesk@sample.com.au’ etc).

Click here to learn more about the information returned by the method.

The email verification method uses the BriteVerify data. Users should read the terms and conditions to make sure intended use complies. They can be found here.

Looking at Email Validation? Why not consider Predictive Email Capture too!

In addition the the verification method shown above you can also use the DataTools.Capture.Email.Predictive.SearchEmail method to help enter the email more quickly.

As the user enters the email address, the system will try to predict the email address you are after by providing a list of options as they type. When the user sees the email they need in the list, they click on it to select it – thus reducing the number of keystrokes to capture the email address. You may then allow the user to verify the email as per above before continuing.
